The low-tonnage Transit Custom, which returned to our market a year ago after a three-year absence, has gone through another restyling. The updated van received electronics previously inaccessible to commercial vehicles.

We tested the next generation Ford Transit van. One of Transit’s trump cards is a wide range of designs: an all-metal van, a bus with 11 or 18 seats, a combi (up to nine seats) and a chassis. Depending on the version, the car can be equipped with front, rear or all-wheel drive. The van has two wheelbase options, three length options, two roof height options – and for each of them you can vary the load capacity.
The new generation of light trucks-LCV “Ford Transit” has three wheelbases and the same power ratings, two roof heights, rear, front or four-wheel drive – a total of 450 variations.
Since 1999, over 58,000 Ford Transit vehicles have been sold in Russia. Acquaintance with the upcoming generation of the model did not give reason to doubt that the new Transit would continue the success of its predecessor.
While competitors are churning out trim levels with an electric meter obsession, the French have limited a potential Master van buyer’s choice to seven basic options. Involuntarily, an allegory with a child in a bath comes to mind. That is, the water, of course, was poured out, but will the “dry residue” be enough?

A Ford delivery truck with a load capacity of up to 900 kg is very convenient in a large city – there are no travel restrictions. In addition, it is inexpensive, especially second-hand.
From the outside, the 2012 Transit is barely distinguishable from its predecessor: all the innovations regarding appearance are a silver grille and red instead of blue numbers on the nameplate. Some models are radically updated, others are seriously upgraded, but money is not thrown to the wind.
